With more than 30 important historical newspapers from across Texas, the Archive of Texas History offers extensive local, regional and national coverage dating back to the mid-19th century. Newspapers include the Dallas Morning News—more than 33,500 complete issues published between 1885 and 1977—and hundreds of issues of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Galveston News, Houston Telegraph, San Antonio Express and others. These historical newspapers provide in-depth reporting along with editorials, obituaries, birth and marriage notices, classifieds, advertisements and more.

A unique collection of historical government reports
The government documents in the Archive of Texas History provide users with authoritative information related to the Lone Star State. These primary documents from the U.S. Congressional Serial Set cover the Brownsville Affair, Constitution of the Republic of Texas, El Paso Salt War, Galveston Hurricane, Mexican-American War, Texas and the Civil War and more. Topics covered include border conflicts, cattle drives, frontier defenses, labor issues, oil and gas discoveries, slavery and others.
